Based in Archerfield, Brisbane, our top-notch facilities provide a nurturing environment that maximizes your chances of landing a job after completing your CPL. Our outstanding team of grade 1 instructors is not only friendly but also highly skilled, with vast real-world flying experience and thousands of flight hours.
To obtain a CPL(H) you must:
Be at least 18 years old during your flight test.
Be either an Australian Citizen or hold a permanent humanitarian visa and be a resident of Australia for the duration of your study unit. Alternatively, if you are a qualifying New Zealand citizen, you must meet the specific requirements:
- Hold a special visa category, such as the New Zealand Special Category Visa (SCV).
- Have been a usual resident in Australia for a minimum of 10 years.
- Have resided in Australia for the first time as a dependent child.
- Have been in Australia for a total of 8 years within the previous 10 years.
- Have been in Australia for a total of 18 months within the previous 2 years.
Obtain a Class 1 medical certificate.
Complete a minimum of 105 hours of flying, including:
- 10 hours of solo general flying.
- 10 hours of solo navigation. OR
- If you hold a PPL(A) with at least 80 hours of total flight time or CPL(A), you are eligible to complete the CPL(H) in a minimum of 70 hours flying a helicopter, which consists of 35 hours of solo flight time (10 hours navigation and 25 hours general handling).
Note: Under the 105 hours course, the final 30 hours of training must be completed within 90 days of sitting the flight test. Also, a maximum of two different aircraft are permitted to be flown and you must complete minimum of 20 hours in each.
Pass the 7 CPL(H) CASA exams.
- Pass a CPL(H) flight test.
